Come back soon

My skin has become

The dark side of the moon

Your captured glow is dying

Like a day-old jar

Of fireflies

Your heat is seeping,

Steaming,

From my pores

Cracking the surface

To crimson springs

Running along

Jagged streams

Among knuckles

And tendoned ravines

My hair is now darkened filament

Lackluster with dulled vigor

My upturned face pleads

For your embrace

My arms spread wide

Like organic solar panels

This wait is becoming

More than I can handle

I pray for but a single ray

A promise that summer

Is not far away

  1. You are one of my all time favorite writers. I look forward to seeing your posts on my feed. I love your control of language, the slight rhymes scattered throughout, and how relatable your material is. I can’t wait for your next post.
