I’m tired

The kind made of

Children’s sweaty smiles after a birthday party

But mixed with the literal nausea

Of vertigo

And the regret associated with descents

From tall places

My eyes shrivel from light

Receding within the recesses of my skull

I shoulder my lost sleep

Like a shepherd rescues a found sheep

I’m trekking to the dark side of the world

And the bright side of the moon

But it’s going to take all day

… all day
